In the production cooperation between food factories and commissioning parties, various cooperation modes are usually seen. The commonly used ones in the market include OEM, ODM, OBM, etc. Many people are already confused when they see them. Below, the editor of Wanhua Flowers will share everything with you. ODM: ODM refers to the process where a manufacturer designs a sample that is recognized by another company and requires it to be labeled with the latter's brand name for production. The factory provides one-stop services for product research and development, sampling, production, shipping, and other supply links.
OEM: Refers to OEM production, also known as fixed-point production, commonly known as contract manufacturing. Its basic meaning is that brand producers do not directly produce products, but use their key core technologies to design and develop new products, control sales channels, and entrust other manufacturers of similar products to produce specific processing tasks through contract purchases. Afterwards, the ordered products will be purchased at a low price and directly labeled with their own brand logo. This cooperative mode of entrusting others to produce is called OEM, and the manufacturer who undertakes the processing task is called an OEM manufacturer, and the products they produce are called OEM products. The customer brings their own brand, packaging materials, and product formula, and we provide a cooperative model for raw material and product processing and production.
OBM: Contract manufacturers operate their own brands. Due to the need for a comprehensive marketing network to support OBM, the cost of channel construction is high, and the effort required is much higher than OEM and ODM, often resulting in conflicts. Usually, in order to ensure the interests of major clients, contract manufacturers rarely make a big fuss about doing OBM.
In summary, the difference between OEM and ODM lies in who owns the intellectual property rights of the product. If the client owns the intellectual property rights of the product, it is OEM, also known as "OEM"; If the overall design is carried out by the producer, it is ODM, commonly known as "OEM". In modern society, OEM and ODM are very common. Due to considerations such as manufacturing costs, transportation convenience, and saving development time, well-known brand enterprises are generally willing to seek OEM or ODM from other manufacturers. When looking for other companies for OEM or ODM, brand companies will definitely conduct strict quality control during the commissioned processing period. You have to believe that this manufacturer has a certain production capacity.
